Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Supervisor to join our team! This position is responsible for performing, coordinating, and supervising various engineering, maintenance and repair tasks involving equipment, buildings and utility systems and providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure that services are provided in an efficient, cost effective and expedient manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assigns maintenance technicians to specific jobs and spot checks work to ensure that workmanship meets standards and that safety and building standards are complied with.
- Planning, scheduling, and supervising general maintenance staff.
- Repair major and minor issues with equipment and buildings.
- Assists with general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, service calls, and emergency maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion.
- Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness. Order and replace broken parts or equipment.
- Supervise maintenance staff, contractors, and daily operations of the Maintenance Department, and assist with staff training and project management.
- Participates in controlling job costs.
- Maintains pertinent records, reports, and studies.
- Assists, during winter, with snow removal efforts.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by
the Facilities Director.
Qualifications:
- Prefer 5 years hands on experience in all phases of apartment building maintenance and renovation including commercial HVAC a must, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and project management.
- Prefer 3 years Supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Technical schooling background preferred
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
